In summary, our research demonstrated found that 4-OI improved the dysfunction of mitochondria-associated endoplasmic reticulum membranes by modulating MFN2 <i>via</i> Nrf2 transcription, thereby reducing the inflammatory response in asthmatic airways during early exposure to PM2.5.
