Dataset Description Title Living amidst Mazuku (dry gas vents): linking hazard and impact perceptions to improve risk communication in Goma, Virunga volcanic province, submitted to NHESS. Abstract This dataset contains household survey data collected in Goma (DRC) to analyse how residents perceive mazuku hazards, associated impacts, and their relationship with distance to gas emission points. The dataset supports quantitative analyses of hazard perception, impact perception, and spatial exposure gradients. Data Description The dataset is structured at the respondent level and includes demographic characteristics, perceived and experienced impacts, hazard perception indicators, and spatial distance measures. Variables · Demographics: gender, age, income, household size, rooms, residence duration, origin. · Distance: perceived distances (distance1–5) and measured distance (HubDist). · Impact perception: likelihood, severity, and experienced impacts (5 level Likert scale).. · Hazard perception: likelihood and magnitude across environments (5 level Likert scale).
