An introduction to punk pedagogy: teaching about punk, punk theorizing, and punk as a form of public pedagogy

<ns3:p>This article examines the concept of punk pedagogy as an alternative way of thinking about education and science. To determine the specificity of this concept, the authors begin their inquiry by defining the notion of “punk” and sketching a theoretical framework for punk through philosophical lenses. Then they analyse three possible perspectives on punk pedagogy: teaching about punk, punk theorizing, and punk as a form of public pedagogy. Finally, they focus on the critique and defense of the concept of punk pedagogy. The authors argue that punk pedagogy is one of the possible responses to the social and educational crises that manifest in dehumanization, alienation, silencing, and the production of superfluous beings, both human and non-human.</ns3:p>
