Design and numerical analysis of a chiral six-arm microstructured optical fiber with a GeO₂-doped core

This paper reports on a new silica-based microstructured optical fiber (MOF) with a unique chiral design. The structure contains a central core of GeO2-doped silica, which is enclosed by six air-hole arms. We modeled the fiber for operation within the telecommunications window and analyzed its performance with the finite element method (FEM) in COMSOL Multiphysics.
