"SOHI" is a dataset of offline handwritten Assamese signatures developed to support research in signature verification and forgery detection for regional scripts. The dataset contains signatures collected from 123 participants, with 16 genuine and 16 skilfully forged signatures per participant, resulting in a total of 3,936 signature images. All samples were collected on paper using standardized collection sheets and commonly available writing instruments. Forged signatures were produced by volunteers after observing genuine samples, simulating skilled imitation attempts. The collected sheets were digitized at a resolution of 300 dpi. The dataset is organized in a participant wise directory structure, where each participant has separate folders for genuine and forged signatures. "SOHI" is intended for academic and research purposes and supports both writer-dependent and writer-independent experimental settings. The dataset addresses the lack of publicly available Assamese signature datasets and provides a benchmark resource for biometric authentication and forgery detection research in regional scripts. Future extensions will focus on expanding the dataset size and diversity across different demographics.
