Application of NLOS UV communication system for geoecological monitoring

Effective use of geoecological monitoring networks requires high-performance communication systems between networking nodes. Reliable transmission of useful data and control signals in urban environments with complex electromagnetic conditions and numerous obstacles to signal propagation, such as buildings and structures, presents particular challenges. The article highlights the shortcomings of existing systems, and substantiates the potential for developing a hybrid RF and UV-C communication system. Using the developed models, it has become possible to simulate the propagation losses of radio signals during data transmission between network nodes, depending on the carrier frequency of the transmitted radio signal and the communication range. The boundaries of frequency ranges and sensor placement altitudes that provide the energy advantage of RF or UV-C communication channels are identified.
