The Effectiveness of a Proposed Counselling Program for Increasing the Level Motivation Learning among University Students

This study aims to develop a proposed Counseling program to improve Motivation learning among university students, and then identify the effectiveness of the program in the experimental group according to gender by comparing the pre- and post-test, and showing the effectiveness of the program and knowing the size of the effect. The experimental method was appropriate to achieve this. To achieve the objectives of the research, first-year students at the University of Raparin participated, and the study sample was (43) students from the first-year students of the Department of Computer Science. The study verified the equivalence of variables such as motivation, intelligence, their attitude towards the specialization, family income, their university entrance grade point average, and age. Then (24) students were identified as an experimental group and a control group. To achieve this, the self-developed scale of self-regulation of learning was bult, and applied psychometric procedures such as validity and reliability. Through statistical analysis (SPSS), the results showed as follows: The program had a positive effect on the experimental group by increasing the level of self-regulation of learning, the value of the program's effect size was middle on the sample as a whole. Gender differences had no effect on the level of self-regulation of learning.
