THE ART OF TAJNIS AND IHOM IN THE CREATION OF ERGASH JUMANBULBUL'S SON

Abstract: This article analyzes the artistic use of tajnis and ihom in the poetic works of Ergash Jumanbulbul o‘g‘li, one of the prominent representatives of Uzbek folk poetry. The study focuses on the poet’s mastery of wordplay and the aesthetic function of homonymous expressions in epic poetry. Special attention is given to the famous quatrain from the epic “Ravshan,” where the polysemantic word “ot” is artistically employed in several meanings, creating a complex system of poetic imagery. The research also examines the relationship between folklore and classical literary traditions, particularly the continuation of the tajnis tradition developed in classical poetry by such figures as Alisher Navoi and Lutfiy. By analyzing examples from epic texts and comparing them with classical poetic traditions, the article reveals the individual artistic style of Ergash Jumanbulbul o‘g‘li and his contribution to the development of Uzbek poetic language. The study concludes that the poet’s creative approach demonstrates the synthesis of folklore and literary traditions and highlights the expressive potential of the Uzbek language in epic narration.
