The field of investment, policy, and institutional research has experienced growth and development over the past two decades. However, a thorough literature review is necessary to analyze this evolving landscape. This study aims to provide a bibliometric analysis of investments in irrigation, policy support for land, and institutional arrangements within financial sector research over the last 23 years. We employ computer-based software tools, such as VOS viewer, to facilitate data collection, processing, and visualization. The dataset comprises 1453 papers related to investment, policy, and institutional research in Bangladesh, extracted from the Dimensions databases. It includes publications from 2000 to June 2023, across various journals, categories, citations, organizations, authors, references, and keywords. The study presents co-citation and co-occurrence analyses as networks. This study examines publication trends, the distribution of disciplines, and identifies the most prominent authors and papers. Frequently used keywords include microfinance, irrigation, land, region, performance, water, and role. Leading journals in this field include the Journal of Development Studies and Sustainability. As expected, Bangladesh contributed the most articles, followed by the United States and the United Kingdom. Dhaka University published the most articles, followed by Bangladesh Agricultural University, with Bangladeshi authors being the most productive. The findings demonstrate the increasing interdisciplinary nature of this research field, attracting scholars from diverse academic backgrounds. Despite its limitations, this study offers a foundation for future research, emphasizing the importance of integrated approaches to addressing the complex challenges in Bangladesh's agricultural sector. • Increased study on irrigation, land management, and financial inclusion in Bangladesh. • Significant rise in IPIs publications in Bangladesh over the last decade. • Research trends show a shift toward integrated approaches for sustainable farming. • Key journals like World Development and Sustainability lead IPIs research. • Policy and institutions are key to addressing Bangladesh's farming challenges.
