Accuracy Assessment of Underwater Photogrammetry of 3D Living Corals in a Controlled Environment

We developed CoralReef3D, a refractive photogrammetry workflow that corrects multimedia distortions and ensures accurate metric scaling. We rigorously evaluated refractive 3D reconstruction accuracy across diverse coral morphologies in a controlled tank environment. This framework provides marine scientists with a practical, highly accurate solution for monitoring living corals using consumer cameras.
