T-shaped microstrip patch antenna for ISM band applications

This paper presents a numerical study of the proposed T-shaped microstrip patch antenna. It has been designed and simulated using the CST microwave studio. The antenna has been designed using semi flexible RT/duroid 5880 as substrate material and copper material has been utilized as the main radiating element and ground plane. The dielectric constant and loss tangent of RT/duroid 5880 substrate is 2.2 and 0.009 respectively. This patch antenna resonates at 2.45 GHz which is suitable for ISM band applications. This antenna provides a gain of 4.49 dBi. This proposed antenna will pave a path to enhance the research on antennas based on ISM band applications.
