Code for all results and figures for "Trapping Particles and Macromolecules with Diffusiophoresis from an Injected Salt Solution" by Sear and Warren, March 2026 Abstract: "We model a system in which a concentrated salt solution is injected into a more dilute solution, containing particles such as colloids or macromolecules. Salt-gradient-driven diffusiophoresis traps particles, but only over a range of injection rates. If the injection rate is too low, the trap is weak and particles escape by Brownian motion. If the injection rate is too high, advection dominates and the trap disappears past a saddle-node bifurcation in the drift field dynamics. Our results explain recent experimental observations of DNA trapping by injection of salt through a pipette."
