Application of PRP-therapy in assisted reproductive technology

Infertility, affecting 17.5% of the adult world population (WHO), remains a significant medical and social problem. Treatment of infertility caused by endometrial and ovarian dysfunction presents a particular challenge. This review analyzes current data (from the last 5 years, PubMed, eLibrary databases) on the use of autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) as a promising method in assisted reproductive technology (ART). The analysis of publications indicates that PRP therapy demonstrates clinical efficacy in the treatment of thin endometrium syndrome, repeated implantation failure, and premature ovarian insufficiency, contributing to improved endometrial receptivity and, potentially, ovarian reserve. However, the available studies, predominantly with limited sample sizes, do not allow for definitive conclusions regarding long-term efficacy and safety. Thus, the method requires further investigation through large-scale randomized controlled trials to develop standardized protocols and assess long-term outcomes.
