National Conference organised by Radhtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) 2.0: Mind, body, fuel: Designing a Well-being focused Intervention module for Corporate Employees

Abstract New age work environments characterized by long hours, tighter deadlines and expectations which reach the sky, lack of paying attention to oneself has become an ongoing and concerning trend among the employees. Employees’ holistic well-being in terms of ‘Mind, Body and Fuel’ becomes crucial when we look at the enabling factors related to the actual company turnover. Indirectly, they have a significant influence over the efficiency and productivity of employees. While having a nutritious diet, sufficient movement and awareness about our body’s requirements could supplement one’s performance, lack of it could prove to be detrimental as well. This was the same problem we sought to address through this intervention. Our objective was to make the employees aware of their food habits, movement practices and what effect they had on their bodies, along with providing them with necessary tool kits which would help them enhance those habits and modify, if required. We have designed a 3 module intervention, focusing on each - Mind, Body and Fuel. The module design is based on existing theories which are integrated into activities. Due to the focus on hands-on activities, participants can have an opportunity to come up with the reflections on their own. Activities have been designed around creating awareness and introducing them to healthy dietary solutions which are practical and realistic, considering their hectic schedules. This study details the designing of a holistic well-being intervention tailored for high-demand corporate settings. By leveraging experiential learning, the program encourages reflection, awareness, and realistic habit modification. The paper contributes a practical model for embedding well-being into everyday organizational life.
