Cost-effective design of rc residential buildings

An approach enabling significantly increase reinforced concrete (RC) residential buildings efficiency and reliability at their design is proposed. Reinforcement calculation methods used in computer programs Lira 10, Ing+, Lira CAD, SCAD (Arbat), STARK ES are analyzed. The error of using strength criteria not specified in regulatory documents is shown. The calculation of designed with LIRA CAD 2022 and constructed 12-storey residential building is considered. The proposed approach application to the building calculation allowed reducing steel consumption in columns and pylons by 46%, and in floor slabs by 24%. Savings were achieved through two factors: the reinforcement with enhanced strength and adhesion to concrete characteristics usage and calculations according to the OM SNiP “Reinforced Concrete” program which takes into account all the regulatory documents necessary requirements.
