High‐Performance Triboelectric Nanogenerators and Ultrasensitive Pressure Sensor Based on Photogenerated Charge Pumping Strategy

ABSTRACT Charge pumping technology represents a key strategy for enhancing the energy output of triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs). However, mechanical pumping systems suffer from prolonged charging time and material wear. Here, a photogenerated charge pumping system (PCPS) based on photovoltaic cells and a matching circuit is designed for charge excitation, achieving rapid charge injection and saving 91.4% of charging saturation time compared to mechanical pumping. In rotational mode, the pumped TENG reaches a peak power density of 25.38 W m −2 , with charging power 2.93 times greater than the combined output of its constituent solar cells and standalone rotating TENG. Moreover, owing to PCPS's motion‐decoupling characteristics, an ultrasensitive triboelectric sensor based on pumping technique is achieved for the first time. The triboelectric sensing array based on PCPS achieves an ultra‐wide detection range from 0.08 to 1964.87 Pa and reaches a maximum sensitivity of 0.313 V Pa −1 . And its lowest detection limit of 0.08 Pa surpasses that of other reported triboelectric sensors. Photogenerated charge pumping technology have simple design and broad applicability, can overcome the shortcomings of mechanical pumping systems. This technology injects new vitality into the development of highly efficient energy harvesting and high sensitive sensors.
