GRIT-ADB is a new global hydro-environmental attribute database built on the vectorised GRIT hydrography. GRIT-ADB provides a single, comprehensive, consistently organised and fully-global database comprising approximately 60 static and time-varying hydro-environmental attributes at segment and reach scales (Table 1). The attributes are derived from publicly available state-of-the-art data datasets and grouped into five categories: hydrology, physiography, climate, land cover and land use, and soils and geology. GRIT-ADB attributes can be linked to the GRIT hydrography using the unique identifier 'global_id'. Here, GRIT-ADB and GRIT data files at the Congo River basin are provided as an example. For attributes that are not stored in their original units, the scaling factors in GRIT-ADB_v1.0_attribute_description.csv must be applied. Details are provided in the following table. File name Description GRIT-ADB_v1.0_reach_catchment_local_AF_CONG.zarr.tar.gz Local mean attributes at the GRIT-reach scale GRIT-ADB_v1.0_reach_catchment_upstream_AF_CONG.zarr.tar.gz Upstream accumulation statistics of local mean attributes at the GRIT-reach scale GRIT-ADB_v1.0_segment_catchment_local_AF_CONG.zarr.tar.gz Local mean attributes at the GRIT-segment scale GRIT-ADB_v1.0_segment_catchment_upstream_AF_CONG.zarr.tar.gz Upstream accumulation statistics of local mean attributes at the GRIT-segment scale GRITv1.0_reaches_AF_CONG_EPSG8857.gpkg GRIT reach layer GRITv1.0_reach_catchments_AF_CONG_EPSG8857.gpkg GRIT reach-scale catchment layer GRITv1.0_segments_AF_CONG_EPSG8857.gpkg GRIT segment layer GRITv1.0_segment_catchments_AF_CONG_EPSG8857.gpkg GRIT segment-scale catchment layer GRIT-ADB_v1.0_attribute_description.csv Unit, scaling factor, and full name of GRIT-ADB attributes
