Effect of Probe Sonication on the Fano Asymmetry in the Vibrational Mode of Molybdenum Diselenide Flakes

ABSTRACT The impact of probe sonication on the electron–phonon interaction in MoSe 2 is examined by analyzing the Fano asymmetry in Raman spectra, specifically the 240 cm −1 peak. Stronger coupling is indicated by a drop in the asymmetry parameter q with early sonication, whereas an increase with sustained sonication suggests weakening. Phonon peak shifts and changes in coupling are caused by structural changes induced by sonication, such as strain and defects. Furthermore, we detect Davydov splitting in multilayer MoSe 2 , which is impacted by sonication‐induced interlayer interactions. Our findings demonstrate that adjusting the sonication period provides a controlled method to optimize the properties of MoSe 2 for optoelectronic applications.
