Endocarditis Infecciosa por Achromobacter xylosoxidans: Reporte de caso

Achromobacter xylosoxidans is a gram-negative, aerobic bacterium that causes invasive infections that are difficult to treat and have a high mortality rate. We present the case of a 75 years old man with a history of severe aortic stenosis admitted for acute pulmonary edema secondary to infective endocarditis, with positive blood and aortic valve cultures for said microorganism. Despite emergency clinical and surgical treatment, the patient died, highlighting the difficulty in managing endocarditis caused by rare microorganisms.
