Gas-analyzing sensor for detecting leaks of rocket fuel components

In this study presents a research of the primary transducer, which is a part of the gas analyzing sensor intended for detection of leakage of rocket fuel components in the environment. With the help of this transducer, it is possible to detect concentrations of rocket fuel components in the air of the working area, from mini-mum fractions to values exceeding the maximum permissible concentration. The proposed study realizes continuous automatic monitoring of asymmetric dimethylhydrazine vapor concentration in the working zone air, which opens wide prospects for its use in ground and space facilities. The study presents a new primary transducer equipped with an open-type electrode system, functioning without the need for gas-permeable membranes and applying a forced sample supply with gas flow control. In the pneumatic system of the gas analyzer, the analytical sample is fed to the primary transducer at a predetermined frequency. This is followed by a reference sample devoid of the measured component through the use of an absorption filter. The scale formed by the background line and the curve of signal dynamics in each cycle makes it possible to determine the concentration of the measured substance, which allows timely detection of leaks of hazardous substances.
