Which landscape services are strengthened or debilitated largely depends on political decisions and social practices. By engaging diverse stakeholders and sectors, an integrated landscape approach fosters sustainable so-lutions. Conflicting goals can be constructively managed, and synergies harnessed to safeguard landscape qualities and services. Local and regional projects demonstrate how this can be put into practice.
