The analysis of MobileMT data from the Athabasca basin, SK, Canada

MobileMT data acquired for the mapping of unconformity-related uranium deposits in the Athabasca Basin were modeled using a number of 2D inversion methods, including and excluding model constraints based on the unconformity depth, inferred from drill hole data. Results include the separate inversion of data from individual lines and the inversion of the entire survey block’s data using across-line smoothness constraints. The availability of one line of MegaTEM data across the survey area allowed for the joint inversion of these active-source EM data with the natural-source MobileMT data. The results show that the inverted conductivity models improved greatly using model constraints provided by the drill hole information or the inclusion of the MegaTEM data, while maintaining a good fit of the MobileMT data.
