A model for integrating customer and contractor information systems for data exchange during digitization of design documentation

This paper analyzes the issues of personnel shortages and the mismatch between graduate competencies and the actual needs of high-tech mechanical engineering companies. A collaborative model of network interaction between an industrial partner and a consortium of higher education institutions aimed at technology transfer is explored. Key technological barriers hindering the effective engagement of students in real-world engineering tasks in a secure corporate environment are identified. The experience of establishing a student design bureau at the State University of Management as part of a contract for the digitization of design documentation is examined. System requirements for integrating the client's corporate information systems, including the IPS Intermech PDM system and KOMPAS-3D CAD, with the contractor's infrastructure are defined. Principles for organizing secure remote student access to the virtual design bureau environment using two-factor authentication and work through dedicated remote desktops are established. An organizational structure for managing the distributed project, including the parent university and co-contractors, is formed. The architecture of an integration solution has been developed and validated, ensuring secure data exchange and privacy compliance. The results of this model's validation are presented, confirming its effectiveness for solving staffing issues and completing labor-intensive project work.
