PROBLEMS ON LEXICOGRAPHY OF FORMS OF VOICE IN ALTAI DICTIONARIES

The paper highlights questions of lexicography of forms of voice in Altai dictionaries. The relevance of the research lies in the urgency of working out the most accurate principals and ways to register these forms in lexicographic works, including the Altai defining dictionary. The category of voice is one of the most intricate grammatical categories of the verb. Today there is no single way to interpret voices in the Altai linguistics, for they are found to fulfil both form- and word-building functions. Therefore, the work studies questions that concern the theory of voice in the Altai and other Turkic languages. The research presents a detailed analysis of the specifics of registering the voice forms in dictionaries of the Altai language. The paper particularly points out typical mistakes and flaws, which are found in the lexicography of the forms of voice in the “The Altai-Russian Dictionary” (2018). The authors of the Altai defining dictionary also come across the same difficulties. The ideas of the paper can clarify some of the moments in taking decisions in lexicographic work with voice forms with reference to the common Turkic or specific languages.
