Effects of Feedback on Enhancing Student Motivation in World History

This study examines the effects of various feedback mechanisms on student engagement and motivation in World History, emphasizing their role in the relationship with academic performance. Utilizing a descriptive research design with a descriptive-quantitative approach, the researchers designed a survey questionnaire administered to eighty (80) Grade 8 students. The study employed quota sampling, selecting respondents from a total population of 803. Statistical analysis was conducted using the Weighted Arithmetic Mean (WAM) to systematically evaluate the effectiveness of different types of feedback, written, oral, peer, evaluative, and non-verbal, based on student perception. The findings revealed that feedback significantly influences students' motivation, comprehension of historical concepts, and overall academic outcomes. Based on the results, the researchers recommended integrating diverse feedback strategies to enhance student learning experiences, promote active engagement, and improve retention of historical knowledge. The study's output includes a proposed instructional framework for educators, aimed at optimizing feedback methods to support student development.
