This dataset contains the spatial distribution of mean damage in RV1 at the building level produced by a Pyroclastic Density Current hazard scenario, as presented in the associated study. Contents Buildings_PDC_LOD1.shp: polygon layer of buildings with Level of Definition 1 and associated data Dynamic overpressure - Pdyn (kPa).lyrx – symbology layer for dynamic overpressure generated by the Pyroclastic Density Current Temperature - T(°C).lyrx – symbology layer for temperatures generated by the Pyroclastic Density Current Mean Damage - Dynamic Overpressure (PDC).lyrx – symbology layer for mean damage to buildings generated by dynamic overpressures inferred by Pyroclastic Density Currents Temperature - T(°C).lyrx - symbology layer for mean damage to buildings generated by temperature field inferred by Pyroclastic Density Currents Attributes newID: building identifier fclass: structure class use: use class (residential/industrial) CAR: 1 if RC (residential) - 100 if RC (industrial) - 0 if other MUR: 1 if Masonry (residential) - 100 if Masonry (industrial) - 0 if other MATERIAL: 1 if RC, 2 if Masonry, 100 (known material) or 0 (unknown material) if industrial Ns: number of storeys H_m: mean building height (m) SA: Surface area class (m2) L_B: in-plan shape ratio (longitudinal/transverse) Orient: 1 if longitudinal side parallel to the PDC flow, 2 if orthogonal Qfmax_GJ: maximum compartment fire load Pdyn_kPa: Dynamic overpressure field (kPa) T_C: Temperature field (°C) muD_Pdyn: mean damage to buildings from dynamic overpressures muD_fire: mean damage to buildings from fire ignited by high temperatures The dataset represents the results of a simulation-based assessment of damage to buildings generated by dynamic ovepressures and temperatures inferred by a Pyroclastic Density Current. The mean damage is evaluated at the building level within a virtual testbed representative of typical Italian coastal urban contexts, Coastal Returnville (RV1). For visualization consistent with the figures presented in the paper, the provided .lyrx files should be applied to the shapefile. Coordinate system WGS84 – 33N
