ABSTRACT Personal hygiene plays a crucial role for food vendors as an effort to maintain the sterility and quality of the food served. Cognitive levels and attitudes influence the behavior of vendors during the food processing stage. The objective of this study was to identify the relationship between knowledge, attitude, and personal hygiene behavior among food vendors at the Kartasura District Market. This observational quantitative study employed a cross-sectional approach with a total sampling technique involving 58 respondents. The research subjects were food vendors in the Kartasura District Market. Data collection was conducted through the distribution of instruments in the form of questionnaires which had been tested for validity and reliability to measure knowledge and attitudes as well as observation sheets to assess personal hygiene behavior. Statistical analysis was performed using the Chi-Square test. The results showed a significant relationship between knowledge and personal hygiene behavior (p = 0.002), whereas no significant relationship was found between attitude and personal hygiene behavior (p = 0.153). This study reveals that knowledge is significantly associated with the personal hygiene behavior of food vendors, while attitude is not significantly associated. ABSTRAK Personal hygiene memiliki peranan penting bagi pedagang makanan sebagai upaya pemeliharaan kesterilan dan kualitas olahan pangan yang disajikan. Tingkat kognisi dan sikap memengaruhi perilaku pedagang selama proses pengolahan makanan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengidentifikasi hubungan pengetahuan dan sikap terhadap perilaku personal hygiene pada pedagang makanan di Pasar Kecamatan Kartasura. Penelitian kuantitatif observasional ini, menggunakan pendekatan cross sectional dengan teknik total sampling sebanyak 58 responden. Klasifikasi penelitian ini adalah pedagang makanan di Pasar Kecamatan Kartasura. Pemerolehan data dalam penelitan ini dilakukan melalui distribusi instrumen berupa kuesioner yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya untuk mengukur pengetahuan serta sikap, dan juga lembar observasi untuk menilai perilaku personal hygiene. Pengolahan data menggunakan uji Chi-Square. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara pengetahuan dengan perilaku personal hygiene (p = 0,002) dan tidak ada hubungan yang signifikan antara sikap dengan perilakupersonal hygiene (p = 0,153). Penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa pengetahuan berhubungan secara signifikan dengan perilaku personal hygiene pedagang makanan, sedangkan sikap tidak berhubungan secara signifikan.
