Abstract - Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a transformative technology in modern computing, enabling systems to perform tasks that traditionally required human intelligence. This paper presents the design and development of an AI Agent-based Desktop Assistant that enhances user interaction with computing systems through automation and natural language understanding. The proposed system integrates Natural Language Processing (NLP), speech recognition, and intelligent decision-making mechanisms to interpret user commands and execute system-level operations. Unlike conventional assistants that rely heavily on cloud infrastructure, this system emphasizes local execution to ensure improved data privacy and reduced latency. The assistant is capable of performing various tasks such as application control, file management, and web-based information retrieval. Experimental analysis indicates that the system achieves high accuracy in command recognition and significantly improves user productivity by reducing manual effort.
