Sense of coherence, job stress and job satisfaction among sales professionals

Abstract The present study examines the relationship between sense of coherence (SOC), job stress, and job satisfaction among sales professionals. Sense of coherence, a concept developed by Antonovsky, reflects an individual’s ability to perceive life as comprehensible, manageable, and meaningful. This research explores how a higher SOC may influence levels of job stress and job satisfaction in the high-pressure sales environment. Data analysis reveals a positive correlation between SOC and job satisfaction, suggesting that individuals with a stronger sense of coherence are more likely to experience greater job fulfillment. Conversely, SOC shows a negative correlation with job stress, indicating that those with higher SOC experience lower levels of job-related stress. Additionally, a negative correlation is found between job satisfaction and job stress, suggesting that increased satisfaction is associated with reduced stress. These findings highlight the potential of enhancing SOC to improve employee well-being and productivity within demanding sales roles. The study provides valuable insights for organizational interventions aimed at fostering resilience and satisfaction in the workplace.
