Research Quality, Reproducibility

The product of scientific research is knowledge. This knowledge is resource- and carbon-intensive. As we strive to reduce the carbon footprint of scientific research, we ultimately aim to maximize a unit of knowledge (or its impact) gained per unit of resources involved. Here, I argue that the openness and especially the reproducibility of findings can maximize the knowledge gained per unit of resource involved.
