Dataset of odontocete acoustic signals from the Madeira archipelago (Eastern North Atlantic)

This open-access dataset provides high-resolution underwater acoustic recordings of free-ranging odontocetes collected off the south coast of Madeira Island (Eastern North Atlantic) between 2022 and 2025. Data were acquired during dedicated boat-based surveys and include only visually confirmed, single-species odontocete encounters. Recordings were collected using a SoundTrap 300 HF at a sampling rate of 288 kHz. The dataset is accompanied by detailed metadata and comprehensive technical validation materials, which are available in the Technical Validation folder.
