Mobile Applications in the Education of Individuals with Autism: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

This repository contains the dataset and the custom Python source code used for the systematic review and meta-analysis titled "Mobile Applications in the Education of Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis". Contents: 1. Dataset (Excel): Includes the raw data extraction forms, coding criteria, risk of bias assessments (Cochrane RoB 2 and WWC standards), and effect size calculations for both Randomized Controlled Trials (RCT - Hedges' g) and Single-Case Experimental Designs (SCED - Tau-U) published between 2015 and 2025. 2. Python Source Code: The complete, reproducible Python script (v3.11) written from scratch to run the DerSimonian-Laird random-effects models. It includes the code for overall effect size pooling, sub-group analyses, weighted least squares (WLS) meta-regression, publication bias tests (Egger's OLS and Begg's rank correlation), sensitivity analyses, and the generation of forest and funnel plots. These files are provided to support open science, transparency, and full reproducibility of the study's findings.
