stpflow (Simbiosys Timeline Planning - Flow) is a Rust-based mission planning and data management system designed to process mission operations data, such as Flight Operation Procedures (FOP) and observation sequences for MPO BepiColombo Integrated Observatory – SYStem (SIMBIO-SYS) instrument aboard the ESA mission BepiColombo to Mercury. The architecture follows a modular approach, where specific modules handle telemetry bit-rate estimation based on instrument parameters (e.g., HRIC, STC, VIHI channels), and the parsing of complex orbital event files and CSV-formatted observation plans. A core component of the system is the conflict resolution logic, which manages overlapping observation windows between "Global Mapping" and "Target" modes across different instrument channels. The tool also implements a serialization layer using serde to interface with external databases via HTTP REST APIs, facilitating the automated upload of processed mission timelines and orbital epochs. Furthermore, it supports the generation of mission-specific command sequences in various formats, such as ITL and TCL, by transforming high-level observation requests into executable telecommand lists.
