This study analyzes sleep dynamics following an acute perturbation event using continuous self-recorded data, including CPAP usage time and estimated sleep stages. Short-term fluctuations in total sleep time and deep sleep were substantial, while long-term averages remained relatively stable. The observed time series did not satisfy the necessary conditions for a damped oscillation model (monotonic amplitude decay and constant periodicity), and thus could not be fully explained by a simple damped oscillatory process (R² = 0.385). However, the model provided a partial approximation of oscillatory structure. The findings are consistent with a non-stationary transient response arising from asynchronous dynamics between arousal level and delayed release of sleep pressure. This behavior can be interpreted within an integrated framework of allostasis and the two-process model of sleep regulation. This work is an exploratory N=1 preliminary study intended for hypothesis generation.
