Digitalization of Open Air Museum Services (In Russ.)

With the rapid growth of domestic tourism in Russia, the concept of museum services is expanding to include digital services offered today by both large museums and developing smaller museums, including open-air museums. A mo-bile audio guide is a type of digital museum service. It has been found that most existing mobile audio guides offer ex-tensive capabilities for enhancing visitor interaction with exhibits, but they do not take into account the specific needs of open-air museums. The aim of this study is to identify a way to expand digital museum services through a comparative analysis of various delivery methods for open-air museums. The study was conducted for the benefit of the Kuuterselkä 1944 Memorial and Historical District (MHRD). A comparative analysis of digital museum services was conducted, target audience needs were assessed, and the maturity of existing digital solutions for museum services was assessed. A conclusion is drawn regarding the feasibility of using mobile offline audio guides as a viable option for providing digital museum services. The results confirm the relevance of developing a mobile offline audio guide and can be used to create a solution for museums and nature reserves with limited internet connections.
