Mind AI Palace Impact on the Effectiveness of Youth Rehabilitation Programmes, and Influences on a Young Person's Engagement within their Intervention: A Thematic Analysis of Youth Offender Practitioners' Experiences

The rapid integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into therapeutic settings has birthed the "Mind AI Palace" (MAP)—a generative, immersive digital mnemonic environment used to facilitate cognitive-behavioral restructuring in youth justice. The effects of MAP on the success of young rehabilitation and its control of participant involvement are investigated in this study. A thematic analysis of semi-structured interviews with 15 YOT professionals revealed three major themes: Narrative Ownership and Immersive Agency, Cognitive Load and Emotional Regulation, and The Digital-Human Therapeutic Alliance. Research show that although MAP greatly boosts early engagement and retention by gamifying the rehabilitation process, its success depends on the practitioner's capacity to translate digital insights into real-world behavioral improvements. The research emphasizes the need of ethical precautions around AI-generated memory anchors and finds a technical honeymoon phase.
