Report from the ZEUS Collaboration at HERA

This is a short overview of the results obtained by the ZEUS Collaboration with data collected during the first year of HERA running from an integrated luminosity of 25 nb−1. Included are the measurements of the total and partial photoproduction cross sections, a study of high mass diffractive photoproduction, the observation of elastic ρ production, results from hard photoproduction where a clear signal of a direct photon contribution has been established, the measurement of the proton structure function F2 and first results on diffractive dissociation of the virtual photon in the deep inelastic electron proton scattering. Limits on leptoquarks and excited electrons are also presented.
