Introduction to BEA WebLogic Portal

The BEA WebLogic Portal simplifies development of Web portal applications, enables personalization, supports the creation of business processes, and allows for easy access to information. BEA, as a vendor, has chosen to build its own portal framework using the BEA WebLogic application server. As we discuss in more detail a little later in this chapter, it has many of the basic services that any robust portal should have, such as the following: • Presentation services • Infrastructure services • Security services • Administration/Management services • Access and Integration services • Content Management services • Development services
